Date: Sunday 04 March 2012

Time: 4:00pm

Join us for a Sunday afternoon presentation and introduction to Deane Juhan, author of the best-selling Job’s Body: A Handbook for Bodywork. If you aren’t familiar with his work, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet one of our great masters!

Deane will use slides, discussion and demonstration to illustrate the extensiveness of muscular involvements that may present themselves as localized shoulder, neck, pelvis or low back issues, and discuss his development of Resistance Release Work as an approach that addresses the re-coordination of these more extensive areas for pain relief and restoring of normal function, rather than merely focusing on the local areas of specific discomfort.  Integral to this approach is the clients’ active participation with the practitioner, which dramatically enhances their sensory awareness of the sources of discomfort and limited range of motion, and empowers their own resources in resolving their difficulties.  Resistance Release Work is an extremely effective adjunct to any bodywork technique.
